This journey is one that, although short, has been brewing for a long time. Thinking back, I only had 8 weeks to prepare myself mentally and physically. When I was younger, 8 weeks felt like a lifetime, but now, its like a wisp of smoke drifting in the wind; a flash of light; candlelight piercing the vast darkness. But this journey started much, much earlier than 8 weeks ago…

        My journey began the moment I heard that my dad, Daryl Martin, was going to Mozambique, Africa for the summer. I remember the confusion, anticipation, and awe. And when he got back, I could see the changes in his personality, faith, and demeanor. From that moment I knew; I knew that I would one day I too would be asked to go out into the nations. A couple months ago, I felt that that call would be soon and that I was to prepare for my work in the nations. That is why I applied for and am going to the Harvest School in Pemba, Mozambique.

I have also been accepted into the Blackpool, England extended outreach. On this outreach, we will be ministering to the homeless and so many others who are suffering. I cannot wait for this amazing experience and the opportunity to help those in need.

After this past year at school, which was a great experience, I was really tired from it all. I learned so much while I was there but to be honest, there was so much that happen that I hadn’t expected (in a good way 😛 ); I made a lot of friends and grew in so many ways.

Now that you are all up to date, let me tell you about what I’ve been doing in these past few weeks. After working for the summer with Steve and Lorinda Thompson at MasterLink Communications, I have been completing the required reading for the Harvest School, getting the things I needed, and “adulting” now that I’m 18. I’ve also been getting this website up and running so you all can enjoy my photography as well as letting me keep you guys up to date while I’m away.  I leave in one week, I can’t wait!
